About

I am a clinical health psychologist and have almost exclusively provided care in hospital-based settings. I am familiar with multiple health conditions, the impact of adjusting to new ways of living, and navigating the health care system. For patients, this means I likely have worked with someone with similar concerns and challenges. For caregivers, this means I have witnessed the impact of illness on whole family systems and appreciate your unique position. And, for providers, this means I deeply understand the challenges that come with practicing medicine in the modern setting and relate to you in a collegial and supportive way. Some clients come with a clear idea of their needs and others are looking for a space to process and gain support. Whatever the reason, I am confident that my experience and the tools I have can support you in your therapy journey. I am licensed in RI & PSYPACT and have the ability to offer telehealth in 40 states. This makes me an especially good fit for folks who may be mobile for work, family, and/or travel/pleasure, as I can likely stay working with you through various moves or changes. What it is like working with me: At the start of our work together, we will create a shared understanding of your challenges through a comprehensive assessment and joint treatment goals. Throughout our work together we will monitor your progress against these goals. I use a range of evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as well as Existential Therapy and insight-oriented approaches to support clients in achieving their goals. As a clinical psychologist, I also have years of experience in addressing a range of more acute mental health conditions including anxiety disorders, depression, and trauma and stressor related disorders. This is important because if we discover you are dealing with acute mental health symptoms we can effectively address those symptoms and conditions through evidence-based treatment. I have an intentionally small practice. I don't advertise widely because I maintain a low profile that optimizes confidentiality for patients seeking that level of privacy. A small practice means that I can focus deeply on work with a select group of clients. The benefit to you is that as a client you get more of my time and attention than most clinicians can offer.
